James has finally realised his gap year plan to travel to Uganda with local South Wales charity PONT, since the Government allowed travel abroad for volunteering. He will be in Uganda for five months, working in two different wildlife centres. The goal is for income from the new wildlife centre in Mbale to support, for the long term, all the good work the charity does in healthcare, education, livelihoods and churches. James will also be getting involved with the local church and youth groups and we are praying that this will be a great opportunity for growing in faith.
Monisha is also taking a gap year has travelled to Mbale, Uganda, to volunteer with the Christian charity, Jenga (the Swahili word for “build”). She will be focussing on medical work in the villages, hospitals and slums and is hoping to get lots of opportunities to show the love of Jesus, whether it be in practical ways or by praying with people in their situations.
