Celebrate Christmas With Us!

All the members of Ebenezer Church send you love this Christmas, and an invitation for you to join us on Zoom to celebrate.

Luke 2:14

Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

Why Celebrate?

God’s demonstrated His love for us in Jesus, who came as a baby at the first Christmas and lived as a man on earth. He is more important than ever because he can transform your life.

Christmas Morning

10.30am: We’ll hold a short family service on Zoom.

How to Join Us

We will send out a meeting code and password (via the church WhatsApp group) to join the Zoom meeting. Use the contact form at the bottom of this website to request to be included on the WhatsApp group.

Live Zoom Event: Sunday 12th July

What is Happening?

Watching the news makes us feel that the biggest threat the world has faced in years is COVID19. But you don’t have to be alone or afraid!

We believe that a life with Jesus is a life filled with love and hope. You can meet God anytime, anywhere. He is our Creator and longs for a relationship with us. The real threat we face is missing out on a promise for a fulfilling life now and eternal life to come.

We’re holding a short meeting to explain why we believe this and where our hope comes from.

When is this Happening?

Easter Sunday Meeting Notes

Happy Easter!

Please start by Listening to the Hymn “Man of Sorrows” BEFORE the meeting starts at 11am. You can see/hear it with the lyrics here:

Please also read the following passage and have a think about the questions below so we can share together.

Luke 24:1-12

Question 1 – How does our view of the cross and the tomb of Jesus compare to the view of the women as they walked towards it?
Question 2 – When you hear the words “He has Risen!” How does it make you feel?
Question 3 – When the Eleven heard what the women said it “seemed to them like nonsense”. How can we share the Gospel without it sounding like nonsense to people today?

Closing Hymn (after the service finishes) “Grace to Grace” below:

Hiraeth Donates £1,022

On Tuesday 19th March Roshni Sundar and Sarah Williams (sixth form students from a local school) presented a cheque for £1,022.94 to Cancer Research UK (received by Mr Kris Wade). They are part of a team of local volunteers who together run Hiraeth Café. This is a community café that opens on Tuesdays in term time from 8.30-12.00, (in Emmanuel Church, Forge Road, Machen). It’s purpose is to provide a local place for friends to meet up, for people on their own to be able to meet others, or for anyone just to have a warm place to come and sit. This donation to charity came from the generous donations of all those visiting the café over the first 4 months it was open.

Please join us for our 4th Sports Quiz, run by ‘Christians in Sport‘. This is a fun evening, suitable for everyone, but particularly those who are crazy about sport! The evening consists of six quiz rounds and a meal.  At “half-time” there will be a short talk about the Christian faith.
