Don’t be afraid - Jesus is here
Read Mark 6v45-56
Walking on the water
Jesus has already showed that He is God by feeding the five thousand. Now He again shows that He is God - as only God can "tread on the waves of the sea" (Job 9:8). But the disciples find it hard to trust that the God of the past is the same God today. They are overwhelmed by their difficulties and find it easier to be cynical about Jesus than to believe in Him, in spite of what they have seen. How we are like them when we get into difficult situations and fear instead of trusting!
People running
Jesus moves on in his ministry to Gennesaret and immediately there is an explosion of activity. People from all around run to Him. All who touched Him were healed. What an amazing scene this is, the like of which even 2000 years later with all our great medical advances no-one can repeat.
